Racing lubricants – top performance under extreme conditions

Racing lubricants are specially developed high-performance oils that are used in motorsport applications. They are designed for extreme loads: high speeds, strong temperature changes, enormous pressure loads and maximum friction. Such lubricants must maintain a stable lubricating film at all times without failing – even under conditions where conventional oils would reach their limits.

What distinguishes lubricants for racing?
In racing series, every second counts – there must be no wear, temperature problems or loss of performance. Racing lubricants are therefore special:

– Shear-stable to prevent tearing even at high speeds

– Thermally resilient to withstand temperatures well above 150 °C

– Oxidation-resistant to prevent ageing even after long periods of use

Friction-optimized to transfer power efficiently and with low losses
BASINOL racing lubricants are developed in collaboration with motorsport partners and tested on the race track – for performance you can trust.

Fragen & Antworten (FAQ)

Can I also use racing lubricants in everyday vehicles?
Basically yes – but with restrictions. Racing oils are designed for short-term maximum loads, not necessarily for long oil change intervals or cold starting conditions. It can be useful in high-bred sports vehicles or on track days. For everyday road use, however, we recommend a road-approved high-performance oil with OEM approval, as also offered by BASINOL.

What is the difference between a racing oil and a normal engine oil?
Racing oils often contain a higher concentration of EP additives, anti-wear agents and friction modifiers. In addition, many racing formulas dispense with compromise-oriented additives that protect particulate filters, for example – because this is not necessary in a racing environment. They are therefore radically optimized for performance, not suitability for everyday use.

What types of racing lubricants are there?
Depending on the application:

– Racing engine oils (e.g. 10W-60, 15W-50)

– Transmission oils for motorsport, often with high EP protection

– Differential and limited slip differential oils with special friction control
