A consistent step in our sustainability strategy: As of April 1, 2025, all BASINOL canisters and caps in sizes 1L, 4L, 5L, and 20L are made from at least 40% post-consumer recycled (PCR) material, derived from recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE).
This advancement actively contributes to reducing the use of virgin plastic – without compromising on quality, durability, or functionality. At BASINOL, we don’t see sustainability as a trend, but as part of our corporate responsibility. By making the right decisions today, we work together with our partners to shape a better, more resource-efficient future.
What does that mean in practice? Our PCR containers continue to meet all requirements for strength, UV resistance, and chemical durability. The transition has been thoroughly tested – both in the lab and under real-world conditions.
And what’s the story behind “eco-grey”? The underside of our drums – as is now common practice among many industry players – will be painted in a neutral “eco-grey” tone. This color results from the reuse of leftover paint and therefore helps to save additional resources. Since the drum bottom is neither visible nor functionally relevant, this is a pragmatic solution with a positive environmental impact.
At BASINOL, sustainability means more than just using eco-friendly materials – it’s a continuous process that we actively shape. Further initiatives are already in the pipeline. Stay tuned!
